Meet Our Advisory Board Members
Leading work on governance, human rights, rule of law, and political affairs across 56 member countries. A Kenyan Advocate and founding Dean of Strathmore University Law School, he is an expert in constitutional law, judicial reform, and peace negotiations. He has advised institutions including the United Nations and the World Bank. Prof. Franceschi has received several honors for distinguished service and is also a respected writer and scholar. He brings to the Advisory Board strong global leadership, legal expertise, and a deep commitment to justice and institutional transformation.
Mary Mwangi Miller is a Creative Director at Multimedia International Agency with a strong background in development communication, brand strategy, and infotainment. She holds a degree in Political Science and a Master’s in Armed Conflict and Peace Studies. Mary has worked as a consultant scriptwriter for NGOs on post-conflict reconstruction, food security, and nutrition, producing documentaries that support social impact. She is also an experienced voice-over artist, media producer, and event MC, having worked with major brands including ABSA, Kenya Airways, Safaricom, Radio Africa, and Hope FM. She brings to the Advisory Board deep expertise in communication, media, and youth empowerment.
Anthony Kahindi is the University Secretary at Strathmore University with extensive experience in finance, strategy, and institutional leadership. A Certified Public Accountant of Kenya, he holds both a Master of Commerce and a Bachelor of Commerce from Strathmore University. He has previously served as Executive Director, Finance at the University and as Director of Support and Administration at Strathmore Business School, overseeing key operational and strategic functions. He brings to the Advisory Board strong expertise in governance, strategy implementation, and organizational development.
Pauline Mwangi is a seasoned hospitality sales and business development professional associated with Serena Hotels in Kenya. Publicly available profile snippets link her to senior commercial roles including Group Sales Manager and Business Development Manager, reflecting experience in client relationship management, partnerships, and strategic sales within the hospitality and events sector. She brings to the Advisory Board valuable expertise in business development, stakeholder engagement, and brand partnership cultivation, with strong exposure to the tourism and hospitality industry in Kenya.
Nils Arne Kastberg is an internationally respected expert in human rights, humanitarian response, and child protection in emergencies, with distinguished leadership experience at UNICEF and the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs. He has served as UNICEF’s Director of Emergency Programmes, Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean, and Representative in Sudan, in addition to diplomatic and humanitarian roles in Rome and Bosnia and Herzegovina. He has also served for many years as a board member of Special Olympics International and contributed to its Olympic Games. He brings to the Advisory Board deep global expertise in child protection, international development, emergency leadership, and inclusion.
Fr. Carlos Alejandro Ruiz Yánez is a Catholic priest of the Sons of Divine Providence with extensive international experience in administration, mission leadership, disability services, and community development. Trained in accountancy, philosophy, and theology, he has served in diverse pastoral and institutional roles across Chile, the Philippines, and Kenya, including leadership of centres supporting children with disabilities and community-based human development programmes. He is the founding Director of Orione Community Training Centre (OCTC) and currently serves as the Bursar of the Kenyan Delegation of the Sons of Divine Providence, as well as Project Director at Orione Resource Centre in Sholinke, Kajiado, and Nyadorera, Siaya County. He brings to the Advisory Board deep expertise in faith-based leadership, institutional stewardship, disability inclusion, and community-centred development.
Richard Magana Manyara is a development professional and project manager with over 10 years of experience leading initiatives in disability inclusion, education, health, rehabilitation, and humanitarian response. He currently serves as Development Manager at Strathmore University Foundation and previously served as Project Manager at Orione Community Training Centre (OCTC). He brings strong expertise in donor-funded project management, partnership development, policy support, and financial oversight, and is passionate about advancing inclusive and sustainable development.
Fr. James Njoroge Waituika is a Catholic priest of the Sons of Divine Providence and a Council Member of the Delegation of the Sons of Divine Providence in Kenya, with strong experience in pastoral leadership, administration, and community development. He holds academic training in Philosophy and Theology and was ordained to the priesthood in 2012. Over the years, he has served in a range of responsibilities including Parish Priest, Bursar, and Finance Committee Member, demonstrating sound leadership in both ministry and institutional management. He currently serves as Director of the Orione Community Training Centre, where he leads programmes focused on the safeguarding and empowerment of vulnerable children and youth through special education, rehabilitation, healthcare, vocational training, and disability awareness initiatives. Fr. James brings to the Advisory Board a strong blend of faith-based leadership, service to vulnerable communities, and commitment to holistic human development.
